Coretta Scott King (1927-2006) is an American civil rights activist and the wife of Pastor Martin Luther King. After the assassination of her husband in 1968, she founded the King Center for Nonviolent Social Change in Atlanta, Georgia, to continue and celebrate her civil rights work.
